Hi, I just bought a home in Vegas and this tree is in my front yard. It has some small fruit growing looking like cherry’s. What is tree is this and are the fruits edible? Thank you.

Could be a purple leafed Plum,like Hollywood or Spencer,maybe Thundercloud.

A good pic of the tip of the fruit would help…that would help tell between cherry plum (which I suspect) and crab apple. Cherry plum (aka purple-leaf plum) should have nothing other than a tiny point at the tip (dried up style), whereas the crab should have a dimpled end with some scaly stuff in the dimple (dried up sepals, petals, stamens, styles).
