What's this growing on my cherry tree?

I keep cutting more and more of the tree but this crap keeps coming back. Any idea what it is? Some kind of fungus? Good or bad?

I think you mean the mushroom … (turkey tail type).
But, fungus obviously means your tree may not have many years left.

Yep the mushroom. It was way bigger than that before but i cut the branch. It’s true that the tree isn’t doing too well. I’ve been trying to get a few more years out of it because I like the Napoleon cherries

You might think about taking a limb and grafting another tree so if this one croaks you’ll have a replacement already going?

Your tree is doomed to die within a few years. Once you see a mushroom on a tree trunk or major branch, you know that the fungus (mycelium) has spread through most of the tree. There is nothing that you can do about it now.

I have a sour cherry tree with the same problem and have planted a new one to replace it about a foot away.
