Tilt the pear up at a 45 degree angle and when it snaps off in your hand its ready to bring inside. It will have additional ripening to do once brought inside. Check it using the tilt test frequently.

It’s already at 90 degrees to the trunk. Will take the idea of lifting lightly until it breaks off.
I’m laughing at myself on this… it’s just a pear, but somehow it’s much more!

I think my problem is going more than the 45 on the tilt test. Advice taken.
