Started to harvest White Lady early last week. The size I’m getting on these peaches are spectacular!! Most of the fruit wasn’t affected by my Captan/sticker combo and looks like my holding off on spraying didn’t cause any PC issues.
Here is a tip. Sometimes WL is rock-hard for weeks until it ripens and softens. They are the rare kind of peach that needs several days up to a couple weeks to ripen on the counter. Most other cultivars just take a day or two. If you wait long enough, they literally ripen up to the point where they concentrate into an almost candy-like taste and texture consistency.
So Matt I’ve normally let them sit on the counter (I usually pick semi soft) for a day or two but always worry about coming home to find a rotted mess. You’re saying it’s possible to let them sit for a week or so?!? That’s awesome!! My kid will probably love them even more then!!
