There is a local retired guy that takes awesome pictures of wildlife. He has a really good camera and takes lots of pics while kayaking. For some reason, he only posts them on one of local facebook group pages and not on his own page. You have to be a member of the group to see them. I’ll “steal” one and post it here
. This one in particular is fantastic.
Here is another one of his pics. Taken at a lake near me last summer, but not by me. Just had to share it, it’s too good. Little Green Heron.
lol! they know where their food comes from.
Who ever said DUMB chickens? LOL
chickens have more common sense than some people.
Haha. Not that hard anymore. Anyway. They do know who feeds them. I often wonder if they know I’m the alpha male here as well? I’ve had to whack the roosters morte than once and they have learned to not attack me. And mealworm time is expected by all and they know who provides it.
i grow s. American dubia roaches for them in tubs in the house. man do they go nuts for them! they dig up their entire run looking for ones that dug in. a blast to watch. they know whats coming when i approach with that bright blue tub. the other day i cleaned a 4 lb salmon. threw the guts and head in there. an hour later even the head was gone. bones and all. shot a old sick bird in the run last fall. got sidetracked and forgot to pull it out of there. the next morning, nothing but bones and some feathers. they sure dont waste a protein source!
Not my own garden, but our neighborhood is infested with suburban rabbits, this one is hiding in a neighbor’s raspberries in the right of way. They rarely come in my yard, though, guess they aren’t a fan of our porch cat.
bet you dont even need to feed them right now. sure wish i could free range mine but they love digging worms in my mulched plants.
True- I have some feed in their feeder but it doesn’t hardly get touched.
… a sight unseen in Wisconsin these days.
the avian bird flu has been around for decades now. why all of a sudden has it become widespread in our poultry recently? over 100 food processing plants have mysteriously burnt or blown up from east to west coast and Canada since 2020? dont believe the food shortage is as much a food chain issue like the govt and media claim.

so much for poultry and eggs being cheap protein. now instead of eating less beef because of its price, poultry will begin to get expensive as well. i predict swine flu will be the next thing to come on the scene. glad i have a freezer full of moose. been culling all crows that come into my yard.
Miner bee studiously re-excavating its burrow after I carelessly collapsed it while weeding today:
(I tried to share a GIF my phone made as a “live photo”, but the file size is too big, so you just get that still frame)
The fly was following it around and seemed to be trying to attack it? Perhaps some kind of parasitic fly, or just trying to steal pollen off the bee’s back?
is that a bumble? looks different from the 3 species we have here. ours are alot fuzzier/ different color schemes. we have 1 thats as big as a quarter. think it was called woolly or hairy something bumble. when they fly they are slow and clumsy because of their size.
That’s a male carpenter bee , notice the yellow square on its “…nose “ area
