Will this graft produce next year?

This graft of a plout on an apricot tree took and then the bud began to grow only to die back several weeks later. However the scion wood has healed to the apricot and the wood under the bark is still green. Is there a chance that next year it will produce new buds that will grow even though I can’t see any now? Here is a picture of the graft.

According to the California Rare Fruit Growers, some Asian Plums are not compatible with Apricot as the base tree.I’m not sure, but that could be happening with yours. Brady
