This was my first attempt to root a goumi limb. All I did was lightly snip off the leaves and put into a clear container of soil just like I do with muscadines. I definitely won’t do this method again. @TNHunter had what I think is one of the best methods. I didn’t see any roots through the clear container and I decided to remove it which had been on over a year. As you can see there are a small amount of roots so I cut it back and potted. I placed it in a mostly shady area and it might survive.

Good Luck @Auburn
Hope it works out for you.
The air layer of carmine that I did has put on some nice growth since I planted it out. Some long tall shoots.
I may graft some of those over to my red gem and raintree next spring.

My rooted Tillamook/Carmine with small roots is still alive and actually grew a little. Looks like I’ve had a mantis place some eggs on the limb.

According to Google each mantis egg case will contain 100-200 nymphs.
