Some of the leaves on my young pomegranate tree (planted in Feb) are turning yellow. I don’t believe I have been over-watering, and the drainage is ok. I’d appreciate any advice. I’m in Menlo Park, CA. Zone 9a.
Yellow leaves are usually a sign of under watering.
And can be a sign of overwatering. ,!
Pomegranate are drought tolerant, after establishment , grown in arid regions
You said the key words, " after establishment." These are
young plants that aren’t established, and they need water.

Most of the leaves look OK, given that I would just chalk it up to transplant shock and let it go for now. In the first year of transplanting, signs of unhappiness are common.
