Sometimes the rarest grafts that I did won’t make it for one reason or another but in it’s failure are twice or more chances waiting for me to try again. The graft had excellent growth but strong winds blew some stuff over the graft knocking it off during the winter. But in its place, are two sprouts that would take on two more cultivars this season!
This one, Black Madeira fig was whip and tongue grafted to Yellow Long Neck Fig. Was looking forward to get some fruits this year. Fortunately, this isn’t the only grafted fig that I have. I have a 12-n-1 fig at the moment. I propagate multi-grafted figs and often just give them away to visiting friends or forum members. I usually have lots of materials from all the experiments that I do in my yard.
