Z6...do you get any Col de Dame Blanca figs if grown it in a pot?

I’ve heard the Col de Dame Blanca fig is one of the best. But it also seems to be late ripening. Is it worthwhile to grow it in a pot in Z6 to get ‘some’ figs from it?

For me it would be worthwhile if I could get +/- 20 figs from it.

In Zone6 You will need to get it growing by February 1st for it to ripen figs outside before frost. It is much easier to start small plants early than to keep them growing when they are big after first fall frost

Can’t do that here. I’m lucky to get fig outside in late March after Spring arrives. If I ever get a greenhouse, I will keep them in mind.

It would be hard to get twenty, maybe if a big tree? I grow it and get about five. Not all Blanca are alike. The Baud version may be different and converted Rimada iappears to be Blanca we also have Blanca/Negra. If I remember correctly Gris or Grise is earliest to ripen and I think it’s better than Blanca. Noir is awesome too tastes like Grise but twice as big. I have not grown it long, still ripens late. Tough to get figs from these trees. I may get rid of Blanca as I need to make cuts to collection.

I picked up cdd gris on this knowledge. I also have cdd cuitat but i dont think thats a true cdd

I had a cuitat too but killed it. It died from neglect. Oh well it couldn’t be helped. My health went south. Better for now.

I have gegantina but it’s in ground ina greenhouse

It’s too late for zone 6 wo an early start of some sort

Yeah I have enough late figs. I’m trying to get rid of some. One I want to add is Cessec, but that’s it. I have a lot of very good figs. Lots of great figs out there.

Cessac is great

But it’s very similar to smith

Ondata and Calderona are amazing
