Zard vs. Afghanistan Apricot

I’m growing Zard and Afghanistan on Myro 29c rootstock. They both were originally brought to the US from Iran. They taste and look the same to me. It’s the first year they have fruited. Are they very similar or do I have two of the same apricot?

Did you ever figure this out?

Didn’t figure it out and both trees died the year after I posted.

I grew both and they are different. Zard has a huge seed unlike any other apricot, it’s hard to confuse it with any other variety.

Both are tasty and neither was very reliable for me so both are gone from my orchard now.

If I got rid of trees that were unreliable, I would have a vacant lot.

I got 20 fruits in 12 years. Really unreliable.
