Ziziphus spina-christi

Anyone growing this one outside?

Ziziphus spina-christi, aka Christ’s Thorn. Chiefly grown for firewood. Is there a viable edible use for this plant?

“Fruits are yellow and ~2cm in diameter (see picture below), when dried the colour turns reddish.”
“Fruits are edible. They are eaten raw. Too much consumption of the fruit creates dryness in the stomach.”

fruits seem not worth much, but local beekeepers might take notice, as jujube-honey aka ‘sidr’ honey is the most expensive honey out there.
