You can see all that with realtime updates here:

When you mouse over the map you can see the bands of counties across states where the worst ice accumulations were. We were fortunate to have very little freezing rain with mostly sleet after the snow, but a few degrees make all the difference.

Just over 12 inches here so far. Its sleet now and here’s hoping it stays that way and doesnt turn to freezing rain. Around midnight the precipitation should end. Just did my 2nd shoveling

I’m sorry about the damage. Nearly done here and thankfully, no freezing rain. I was wrong earlier on that count too, it was just sleet. But, kids school canceled TUESDAY at 5pm SUNDAY…so…I’m a bitter parent.

The up to 1 inch of ice turned out to be less than 1/4 inch. I shivered in the cold wind Saturday pruning back 1st year apples that might have broken in heavy ice. At least I got an early start on pruning.

Again Illinois isn’t on the map. These maps are suspect

Two of our granddaughters and their husbands moved to a split-level home in Kisco NY last summer, about a dozen miles north of Westchester County Airport. They received about 16" of snow, which froze this morning. It was kind of a learning curve for them, even though they had previously lived in Cedar City UT. I’m not sure if they had purchased a snowblower.

Oh dear, I’m familiar with that sound. Every set of “modern” windows I’ve seen put in up here did that. Solution is actually easy and cheap, although takes a bit of time. grab a tube of silicone and go around the outside of the house. put dots of the stuff underneath the trim just close enough together that the wind vibrating it can’t bounce it off the house. If you’re lucky, you only have to do a couple of sides or corners. It’s always windy up here.

We were lucky compared to many. I never went down to the road, but the ice is thin enough that the road and even my driveway look black from the house. Black ice isn’t fun, but it may actually transpire in tomorrows wind if it was salted as well as usual. But heck, I never even made it to the pants stage of the day.

only about 4-5 inches of snow here in SE Michigan. At least it is light and puffy snow.

@Ethancactus That Kentucky weather is a surprise. More snow and colder than my area in NY.

My last gas yard tool is the snow plow. Don’t plan to retire it any time soon.

Used it for the first time in several years. I had it serviced three years ago and loaded with stable fuel. It was supposed to be good for 2 years but since it didn’t get cranked up I don’t count that. Plowed last night before dark and replow this morning. did my house and neighbors and our drive ways.

After 24 hours of snowing, we had about 15-16” by this am in central MA. Temperature has been under 20 F so snow is light and fluffy, much easier to shovel. So far, 3 rounds of shoveling. Still snowing very lightly, more like drizzling. We may end up with 18” of snow after all.

No other issue.

So sorry Bro. From the looks of it, we had a ice storm that looked like that last year. We ran the generator during the day and early evening hours, stayed warm via wood stove. I would shut shut the generator down and bring it in while I slept. I didn’t want it sprouting legs. If you were closer I would bring you my generator to use.
