I grafted it 2 years ago (to an established callery) and I have ~15 fruit his year.

I was going through The Pomology Book (1901) by the Ukrainian pomologist Lev Symyrenko and found references to both of AbbĂ© FĂ©tel’s parents: BeurrĂ© Clairgeau and Bonne Louise d’Avranches.
“This great variety obtained by planting seed from BeurrĂ© Clairgeau which was pollinated by Bonne Louise d’Avranches. By M. Fr. Burvenich-pĂšre.”

Done! However, USDA genome data suggests Louise Bon Jersey as the male parent. It is NOT confirmed! Looks like Louise bon d’Avranches is a pseudonym for Louise Bon Jersey.

Pseudonyms: Louise bonne de Jersey, Jersey Pear, Gute Louise von Avranches, Dobra Ludwika.
