Akin Apple

Looking for a source for the Akin (Akins Red) Apple scion. Sold by Stark Bros is the late 1800s. Nearly extinct but listed with Botner. Anyone growing it or know how to obtain it? Thank you.

TOC lists it: https://www.temperateorchardconservancy.org/wp-content/uploads/TOC-Scion-List-for-Website-12-2021.pdf

Wagon Wheel too. But you have to buy the 10 for $150 bench graft deal which is a good deal too.

Thank you very much.

Wagon Wheel has so many varieties. It would be worth it when you buy that many. Heck if you don’t need them all give the away to people. You would still; be money ahead, IMO.

I want to order most of my Georgia origin trees from Wagon Wheel. I just wish there was a way to confirm availability of varieties other then just giving a list.

Is that 10 a mix or 10 of the same one? I see they say their list is compilation from several scion sources.

A mix of any 10.

The only better bare root deals I’ve seen are at 39th and Maple Valley. Both at $13 dollars per.

They don’t inspire confidence with no email I can see and an out of date website.

Send them an actual letter and see what type of response you get. I did that a couple of years ago and I got an answer. Very nice person I actually talked with on the phone.

**Yes, jerryva is correct. I was referring to Wagon Wheel orchard. I found a phone number for them as well.

Which place?

Wagon Wheel
