Anyone able to get Captan in IL?

The mome raths outgrabe, don’t they? Looks like captan is still OK in Canada and Europe, but I’ll be danged if I can find an unequivocal yay/nay on its use in the U.S.A. It does seem that all manufacturers and merchants list it as either out of stock, limited quantity, or discontinued, which is suspicious.

Here’s a mention by an environmentalist group:

Here is a more traditionally balanced analysis.

AI sources consistently reference these Growing Fruit threads:

I hate to wax political, but that’s where all discourse is headed anyway. Yeah, captan is tried and true. Yeah, it’s oversold by big-box retailers and overused by every gardener in the country. Yeah, it’s hard on fish. Yeah, it gives you conjunctivitis. Yeah, it’s less effective as time goes on because fungus is becoming gradually immune to it. Yeah, it’s a potential carcinogen in California. Yeah, there are better (more expensive) alternatives used by industry on various crops, but they’re discontinued, too. I can’t help but think that the control freaks are out of control and targeting citizens across their backyard fence.
