Are the Excalibur Food Dehydrators the best? If so, which version?

Looking for a recommendation on your favorite dehydrator and why.

I remember some earlier discussions about them. Here are a couple.

Mine is an inexpensive Nesco, that works okay.

I saw the 2015 one but figured there must be newer info out there. Thank you for finding the, though!

I have had an Excalibur dehydrator for many years, I think it is 3900B. Temp control, no timer, 9 trays. This might be the cheapest model now, I would get the same again as I don’t need the timer or clear door. If you do very wet foods and set dehydrator on an uneven surface, you’ll get water dripping from one corner. The fan pulls out water quickly which won’t vent properly if uneven. Also loud as /$&#, it’s like a hair dryer on for a day. Still the best thing ever, fruits and herbs dry fast and then can store a long time, just keep away from your sleeping area for sanity. I also have teflon liners I use for fruit leathers or very sticky stuff. You can get liners from somewhere like HomeGoods or TJMaxx very inexpensively. I think those are sold for cookie sheets, I am not sure if those for oven floor liner are direct contact food safe, probably.
