I think I got scionwood from you . Thank you.

How does it taste?

Very good, be ready to defend them!

Early ripening - good. Short window before core breaking down - bad.

It will be challenging to get it right.

The beetles are on them fast as well since they have higher sugar!

Oh boy. Must be ‘going around’. All of a sudden my shoulder is screaming at me and I can’t lift my left arm without hearing from it! I start PT in a week or so. Getting old . . . . . not for sissies. For SURE!
Seems like every day another body part bites the dust!

I had this problem in my early 40s for doing one yoga pose. I have been stretching daily, so far so good. I now can push very heavy compost bin by myself, I don’t need my husband’s help anymore.

Yes. It means lemon of Carmes.

A refreshing pear founded by the Carmelite nuns of France in 1602.

I hope the “lemon” refers to the shape of the fruit, not the taste. I can’t eat acidic food any more as my teeth get more and more sensitive to acidity.

@pomgranny, @SoCalGardenNut , @steveb4 - I hear you.

I’ve tried to “stay in shape” but not sure it is the right shape these days.

I think it might be the color, or shape, definitely not acidic. Could be refreshing!

Is your cherry Utah Giant? It is not as cold hardy as Black Gold. Even that, my White Gold blooms are very sparse this year.

My Juliet, a bush cherry, has not issue blooming. Their lineage is from Canadian prairies. They are tough.

My Juliet this year.

My Black Gold set few flowers this year.

Usually, the tree is covered in blooms.

My multi Bud cherry is: Van, Lapin, Bing and Black Tartan. I got fruit last year.
I have three others as single buds: White and Black Gold and Utah Giant. No flowers on any. (Yet) Last year they were all happy.

Weather here in MA has not been great. High 58-60 F and low around 40 F with several days of rain in the next 10 days. I get tired of waiting for steady weather (high 68-70) for 4-5 days to graft peaches.

Read that this year @BobVance grafted his peaches successfully in late March/early April. I decided to risk it today. Today, high temp was 60 and the next 3 days will be 57, 58 and 62 with only one day of rain.

I grafted one apricot scion, 3 nectarines and 4 peaches. If any of these take, great. If not, I’ll go back to wait for high 60’s temp again.

Good luck.

Tippy, I’m with you. I grafted my peaches when we had 5 days window in 70s. However, I promised several friends to graft their seeding peaches and am waiting for a three days in 70s again. I hope I don’t have to wait until May to finish the grafting for them. Or worst, the weather suddenly switched to the summer.
