'Bajtar ta' San Gwann fig' in zone 8?

Good morning, I live in the Netherlands (zone 8) and I have a fig collection. I would like to add this fig ‘Bajtar ta’ San Gwann fig’ to my collection. But will that work in the winter outside in zone 8? Does anyone have the answer for me?

Here’s what I’d tell you. Compare your winter weather to that in areas where breba fig production does work. The area in the USA where breba figs work well are in the Pacific northwest around Seattle WA. Seattle itself may have a heat island effect. So, I’d look at nearby towns like Tacoma and Everett. See how their winter compares to yours. A good place to find the climate data is Wikipedia.

Are you planning on growing your tree in-ground? Is it an open space or protected microclimate?

Zone 8B/9A is safe but 8A is not reliably safe for most in-ground figs.

Most of my plants are 2 years old now. Until now they are in 45 liter bins and they go in a wooden shed during the winter. My garden is completely open - no microclimate unfortunately. I think our zone is 8A.
So I think shelter in the shed is always necessary?? So I will continue to prune the figs in such a way that they always stay in containers that can be moved… From the outside to the inside.
In this case, climate change can be called positive (…) It has become less and less cold here in recent years.
