Passionfruit really going off, first year for Marjorie Sherwin (right) and second for the pinkpop (left) ate one pink pop that fell and it was pretty good. Idk when to harvest them as people have said polar opposites in harvest appearances

Pawpaw from the park:

Ripening up yellow. Smells really good, too.

Still some patches of green, I’m going to give it another day or three.

I’ve never seen a pawpaw get that yellow looking. Looks good though :+1:

a wasp on a raspberry flower❤️

Also found over 200 moth eggs on one of my prized blueberry plants and could not burn it with fire. Took over 30 minutes and they wouldn’t burn so i tried electrocuting the eggs. Electrocution worked but fire didn’t… found the mother moth shortly after and she attacked me… i hate moths

The wind knocked a few guavas off but they smell really nice. Picked my sole Nikita’s Gift persimmon because it felt soft to the point it would get damaged easy. Going to let it sit on the counter for a day or two and try it

Found a few pawpaws and one that had a mostly white flesh! It tasted really good(like all pawpaws), but had a slightly different flavor, but in a good way.

The rest of the pawpaws I got from that patch had deep orange flesh.

Different types of volunteer tomatoes - we pulled most but it’s kind of fun to see what you get… :woman_facepalming:

Juliet Tomatoes + Lemon Boy Plus

Habanero, Jalapeño, Poblano, Serrano, Long Slim Cayenne

Very happy with the long slim cayenne, so much easier to pick and process!

Our 14 year old or so mandarin finally putting on a heavy crop this year :face_holding_back_tears:

The red grapes are starting to come in. By the end of next week we’ll be picking a full 8 hours a day 6 days a week or more.

Some first time apples and a few pears

first row left to right
None new except last one, Golden Delicious VA beauty, Hubbardston none such, muskmelon sweet
Second row: frostbite, pipsqueak, black LT, pink lady (not new), red Cinnamon
Third: cathead, another black LT, rusty coat, summer beauty (not new)
Last row: McIntosh, Bartlett, red Bartlett, seckel,?

Notable for me, cathead angular and lobed, Rusty coat rather flat, pipsqueak bigger than I expected, black LT more red on other side but still looks early, frostbite tiny as described on line. Rusty coat might be mislabeled. On line looks more like ashmeads all russet no red I’ll send out a few tasting notes as I go along.

I spotted one ripe fruit on this that the birds hadn’t eaten yet. It was not bad at all. Sort of mildly sweet with a hint of some hard to describe “spice” taste (not heat, more like hint of pie spices). Definitely going to let this one stay where it volunteered.
