Let me know if you want seed from it. I usually save some of the pods and they are prolific producers. I have it growing up in cracks in my sidewalk. I also have the bigger variety that gets like 6 feet tall, but those flowers don’t seem to be scented much. Its the smaller leafed white or purple that have a nice scent.

Thanks for the offer. Do you know if the leaves have any insecticide property like the true tobacco leaves have?

Harvested White Lady ( thanks
Regina for sharing the scions) and Flat Wonderful donut peaches. Both are the first time harvest here so Ican’t tell well enough of their harvest window.

The Flat Wonderful is picked about at right time. It is large in size, sweet and juicy yet maintained some firmness. It has red leaves
in the spring and showy flowers. The White Lady definitely has not ripen yet. But I must pick them off the tree. Otherwise, squirrels will not leave any peaches for me ripen or not.

Obtaining an effective dosage of insecticide from tobacco leaves requires distillation and titration.

Richard, I read from some where, some time back that the article said just collect some cigarettes butts, soak in water overnight. Put filtered solution in a spray bottle to spray on leaves to control cabbage loops, aphids, and other soft body insects. I have never tried the receipt but am curious enough to try.

A nice Hale Haven peach that I accidentally nudged free. It needs a little more time to ripen but it’s a nice size. Covered with Clemson style bag.

My day to knock fruit off. A Red Royal LT also too early for tasting.

I’ve never tried but i’d imagine it could be used. The leaves are kind of sticky.

Found a few early fall crop heritage reds this eve… bagged most of my seedless concord grapes… ate several too… very good mix of tart and sweet.

@Naeem … beautiful grapes … love that color.

Do your seedless concords have seeds? Got two myself. Love concord.

My Reliance are still small and green.

Wow. My Black Monukkas are finished!

@Robert … mine are truly seedless… but the clusters and grapes are on the small side.
Love the flavor… a real treat.

how do you compare it to the real concord? I heard the seedless version only contains a fraction of the labrusca flavor of its seeded counterpart. Of course, some don’t like the strong labrusca flavor and this may be a refined version for them.

The top picture and cluster of grapes looks like a beautiful ‘stained-glass’ window!

@californicus … not sure i have ever had seeded concord grapes. Nothing to compare too… but my seedless concords came from Starks around 2005.

Absolutely no complaints about the flavor, tartness or sweetness… much more flavorful than any store bought grapes i have ever had.

I do not care for sweet only … and these are quite tart… initial flavor wow… but also very sweet. Just what I like.

I downloaded the picture. It’s lovely!

Reine Claude d’Oullins

I just love this tree. It is so full of fruit the branches are hanging down. The tree is about 30 years old but was only this spring identified as a Reine Claude d’Oullins. Therefore, I feel now compelled to tell everyone how great Reine Claude d’Oullins is, since this sounds much better than talking about an unknown variety of Reine Claude.
The damage on some of the fruit was caused by wasps. They go wild over these fruits. Because of them, we pick slightly underripe, otherwise all fruit would have holes in them.
