Fingers crossed, this year looks to be considerably better than last.
Titan Blueberry, I just thought it neat the maturing fruit and blooms at the same time.
Jonathan, I removed one of them.
2nd plant to look like it’s going to flower for the year in my yard in the North, found on my warmer hill. These are generic red Nanking Cherries. Second only to Honeyberries flowering I believe.
Seombadi. Korean Celery.
Some small amounts of Silver Carpet Lambs ears still waking and some self sowed Egyptian Walking Onions.
my indigos are just behind yours. sour cherries starting to wake . e. walking onions are about 6in. high.
Would you be willing to trade with me for some Seombadi?
I really like celery, and edible perennials make me happy.
I have no clue if I can split a plant, I haven’t tried. But if you want, I can save all my seeds this year. And I’m sure ones bound to sprout for you if I send you a bunch. I find this plant lovely to grow even if you don’t eat it. It’s a real edimental.
Thank you, I would love that.
Right now I have artichokes growing along the sidewalk in front of my house and I am hoping for giant purple flowers all down the way.
flowers for a bouquet to take and greens I cooked for mother in law who broke both arms and is in rehab facility for a few weeks. both arms!?! she’s wild. and petal drop making me impatient to see what’s taken and pollinated and start thinning.
My walking onions are huge and very healthy looking. They are already producing the little sets in the top.
They seem to really like growing in the mulch ring under my fruit trees… there is compost under that.
TNHunter
Ooh, I have been doing the same thing. Putting my walking onions in the mulch around trees.
started with 3 bulbils of e.w.o planted under my elders and now a have a 3’ x 12ft patch that’s spreading out east to west under my plantings with no fertilizer. very prolific.
Old Mixon Free
Grafted it last year. It’s like a 2’ ‘V’. Anyone know when they ripen relative to other peaches?
my horseradish has never bloomed for me. 5 yrs. in ground near my compost pile. its in a pretty shaded spot, crowded by stinging nettle though.
My new favorite mid- spring bloomer- penstemon hirsutus. Such a pretty little smooshed dome. It’s blooming with blue false indigo and amsonia when the first spring native bloomers are fading out. Also, it’s distinctly earlier than my other penstemons (red husker, calico and foxglove beardtongue) that look 1-2 weeks out.
