We were out of power for five days in may, we had lots of trees down and on power lines. Hope everyone gets their power back soon. Here’s what they did to our power line right of way last week.
For everyone trying to track Kansas storms here is a map to help out. It gives everyone a visualization of where the douglss pear came from. We are pretty close to several other states in north east Kansas. Many people think the droughts are like western kansas, but they are not we more follow Nebraska and Missouri’s weather.
Be safe everyone it is real nasty here in NE Kansas!

Certainly is drifty snow and wind.
Every road and highway is closed now in this area. Do not come this way for awhile. I think even a medical helicopter can’t fight the wind and conditions here. Police, ambulance, or fire trucks cant make it.
How much snow so far, and is it still coming down? We’re stuck at 4in, it let up for about an hour, but more is coming in from the SW. The freezing rain and sleet is about 100mi SW of us, so it’ll be switching over to that later tonight.
Here in Kansas the wind is 30 - 45 mph but im guessing 8" + . I moved the car some because the snow was going over it . It would be harder if that snow or ice froze the car in a drift .
Dog and cows are the only things enjoying romping in the snow. The ones with the most snow on them spent the most time out of the freestall barn, but all here in the picture were roaming(which is most of them)
I’ve got a parfait here in Saint Louis. Layers of freezing rain, snow, sleet, snow, sleet currently around 4” but the second half is bringing up to 6” more. It is definitely not the Armageddon I was promised but I have first responder family members whose safety is more of a priority for me anyway.
