Clark's Mulberry

I started an attempt yesterday to root a couple Clarks mulberry from dormant scion.

I got my scion from 39th.

Anyone have luck with that ?

Do they root easily from dormant scionwood ?

I was originally going to graft them but had rootstock problems.

I recently grafted my last Clark’s scion to a native root. Want to arrange a pickup? I’ll gladly give it to you.

I bought the same and have had them in containers trying to root. No visible roots yet, but they’re still alive. Would love to know if this has worked out for anyone.

Did anyone have problems getting these to grow. I know one person did.

Not me! All my grafts seem to be taking. Thanks again for breeding this and sharing it!

I just grafted mine a few days ago, will let you know later. I had an extra, does it root easily?

@Chunky

Many say yes but I have not tried it.

This is my first year crafting or growing mulberries, but so far Clark’s is the first of the graphs to be waking up. I only grafted it five days ago, so too soon to know if it is going to make it.

I wish I had a place to graft them. I tried rooting, brushed off the flowers I posted about, and no signed of change until recently. Now, one appears to be dying, but the other seems to be pushing new growth, and I’m hopeful.

Yes we sent them all out I’m glad you told me you didn’t receive them. Please let me know if anyone else didn’t get them. I suspect since I received no cash Kris I never got the envelope with cash in it. How much cash was it? I literally tried 3 times now to get these mulberries sent out.

If anyone else did not receive free scion of any kind please let me know.

Hope everyone’s mulberry is doing well!

I have had these two dormant scions in promix hp for 4 weeks today.

I had them covered so no light.. to minimize early top growth.

Today is their first day getting morning sun.

No doubt the top growth will come on now. Hope the roots are developing to support it.

My second one died. No roots. It held onto green for so long (3 months??) I thought for sure it had to have roots. Nope. Flush that purchase down the drain.

@Eme .. I was expecting mine to green up some and put on more top growth this week… but has not happened.

I may be headed for failure too.

It was cooler than usual here those first 4 weeks.
