Same. Drenched then drizzles with periods of heavy rain.
And we’re back to the dry pattern again…
Forecast is about half inch rain Tuesday.
I’ll believe it if I see it.
Forecast is saying almost the whole state of KY is getting some rain.
Got 0.15 inches today. It was mainly a WV and SW VA thing.
No kidding. The last couple times it called for more than half an inch I was lucky to get a quarter.
My forecast has already dropped to just .13 inches for today. It also shows a little shower on Saturday, but nothing else in the next 10 days.
Last week we had about 3 inches of rain but the next rain event was probably less than a 1/4. Made for a great day outside but if water was what you were hoping for it was a poor showing. Without the heat it doesnt seem to be all that bad but if this trend keeps going into the summer it will be a case of feast and famine. All the more reason to get some rain barrels going around my property.
This is what one model (HRRR) predicts rain totals could be by 5/17 6am. NoVA and other NE corridor cities unfortunately won’t get much per this projection. Ventusky is a nice visualization tool for those interested. It gets refreshed every 3 hours.
Time to do the rain dance.
My dancing seems to be failing… I’m down to a forecast or .01". I believe that is just to cover themselves in case we get a few drops, but I expect nothing now.
It’s raining…and the storm sirens have gone off 5 times…(I guess the last one might have been for ‘all clear’ as one rush of air and 5 minutes of pouring rain came through…just light rain for a little bit, then probably sun before evening over.
Not much…just enough thunder and possibly some scattered hail…to excite the trigger happy emergency siren operator. (IMO)
Glad to see the rain.
Unmeasurable sprinkles in central MD.
Only .10 of an inch so far in the month of May here in southside VA.
Got .44 inches in last 2 days, SW VA.
Got estimated 1/3 of an inch…don’t have an actual rain gauge.
Beneficial rain.
(Though I did hear of scattered hail.)
There’s many folks with weather gauges that submit data to wunderground.com.
If you PM me your approximate location, I can help you find a nearby weather station. Or you can use the map in above link (it will probably detect your location anyhow).
I don’t see the key to looking up ‘yesterday’ but it gives zero for today…
but that I had figured out. I’ll pm.
Most of SW VA is getting a good soak. Nearly 2 inch between yesterday and today and still raining.
You stole my rain! We were supposed to get a nice rain but it looks like most of it was further south. I got just over a quarter inch.
Sorry, didn’t mean to do that! If I could share I would. This storm has been a bit spotty according to radar.
Nothing whatsoever in Howard County, MD. The high pressure north of here has kept pretty much all systems away this month. We’ve had 0.91 inches of rain all month.
