Garden Prince Genetic Dwarf Almond

Do the old leaves drop when new ones start to push out?

At some point they will, but I can still see them today.

You don’t have squirrels there, do you?

I’d love to grow almonds, but the squirrels would just get them

Unfortunately our Garden Prince almond was not a good match for the coastal influenced weather. The bark is prone to systemic fungal infection and applications of Manzate, copper, and Assail Abound did not improve the situation. I euthanized it with Triclopyr 4 this winter. I’m considering planting a Plinia Sapucaia in this spot - esp. since there is an acidified irrigation line nearby.

Looks like some great trees in the background, though.

No squirrels but the birds can’t wait and devour them as soon as they barely reach pea size
