It’s prime loquat season here now. But critters took a lot of them including varieties I’ve never tasted.

I just got done grafting a few varieties yesterday and i need more rootstock lol. Still need to repot the other ones i got so i may hold off on getting more unless the stock market picks up 
Do you know whether or not these people protect their trees in the winter?

Any way to be more general?
You posted pics of loquat trees with fruit on them in Seattle. I made a specific reference to those exact pics. That is not a general statement. Also, if something isn’t clear to you there are ways of asking for clarification without the snark.
It is best to make a quote,for a reference.This will make it more clear for the addressee and to let future readers follow.
There are two different locations I wrote about and my guess is,other than one tree is in the open,by the street and the two are in a backyard,nearer to a house,there is no physical covering placed over them.
My Aunt and her Boyfriend sent my Husband and I some nice Haden mangoes and an loquat seedling from a really delicious tree they have.
“The loquat is a sapling from a seed from Aunt’s which is one of the best I’ve ever had. Very sweet.” Said Aunt’s BF.
If it has survived the trip I will be very happy. Unfortunately I just got the package yesterday afternoon while at work as it had been delayed. It was supposed to arrive Friday the 11th.
Had my husband put the tree into some water and I will plant today when I get home. It is supposed to be almost 90 F, so in a pot it will go until I decide where to put it!

Anyone have any recommendations for a variety? I have tasted fruit from random seedling trees and once in Japan. The tree that fruited in my area wasn’t as productive this year, likely due to the colder winter we had. The only varieties I have found available are at Just Fruit and Exotics. Are Champagne, Christmas, Ed’s Delight, or Premier any good? I also have 2 year old seedlings I planted from the tree that fruited around here, so grafting is an option (just prefer a larger grafted tree).
Random question. Has anyone successfully imported cuttings from South America to Canada? I’m in Argentina right now and loquats currently have ripe fruit on them. There’s a tree on the sidewalk every two or three blocks. I’d love to send a few cuttings home to graft on my tree as a living momento but the import process seems complicated.

You should talk to Bob Duncan at Fruit Trees and More. Canada is possible. USA is much harder.
That person appears to be on vacation in Argentina, and wants to ship cuttings from Argentina to his home in Canada.
