How is your weather? (Part 1)

I was just talking to my wife how i want to get my houseplants outside to give them a proper spraying. All i need is 40Fs and sunshine. I think we’ll see that soon. I’d love to wash my car too but the streets are going to be a mess for a few days i think…they didn’t really plow them the last few small snowfalls so the slop will be everywhere.

-5F this morning. Back up 10F.

It’s raining! 46 degrees in middle of night! After 11 days not getting above 32, this is welcome I guess…but Saturday there was no mention of rain until Monday or Monday night…
got here early I guess.

I’ll take it…will wash away most of the ice from the trees and snow and sleet from the ground.

4.5 inches of snow. It has been mild though (upper 20Fs.) Here is a storm that at least mid/late last week the GFS is wrong about (had us getting about 2 inches). Calling for 40F today.

73F in Houston yesterday. Those people must have thought it was a heatwave after that stretch of cold.

Yeah it wasn’t a record breaking stretch around here, but more just the duration of the cold. Usually when you get such cold temps even up here, you’ll jump right back to freezing or warmer in a few days. This time it didn’t really happen.

Extended GFS has some very mild air (biking weather)… just need to melt off this glacier.

Rain tomorrow but 63 F.

Woke up to a VDOT snowplow again this morning and big fluffy flakes. THAT was a surprise

Hope this is the last big snow you get

We had heavy snow yesterday afternoon. But the air temperature is abov 32 so it didn’t add any to the snow pile. Snow is slowly melting down

Me too, although it was pretty. Pretty is getting a bit old, however.

Alas, I found 3 of my apple trees crushed by trees that fell on them…ice storm.

(They’ll live, just have to spout out form the trunk…I’ve got extra scionwood now. ).

37F sunny and south wind. Lot of melt this afternoon. Looks like we stay above freezing for the next week so should really see this snowpack start disappearing. This is almost perfect for the melt…warm’ish days and freezing nights. When the ground is still frozen solid, water has to flow into rivers/low spots.

We are supposed to be 65 degrees warmer tomorrow than 1 week ago. Get the speedo out!

Got up this morn and the temp was above freezing!

Same here. I see the low was 35F. Looks like the overnight temps drop later this week (back around 20F). Still looks sunny and not much in the way of precip for awhile. Can’t wait for most of this snow to be gone.

I had a robin in my garage this morning --they love building nests on my garage door opener motor. 1st one i’ve seen.

We’re heading to 50’s today and 60 tomorrow. Maybe a good day to get the leaves out of the goldfish pond!

A warm up of 85F since the low last Tues in Kansas.

Models suggest good warming in early March across the area.
