I remember that from my youth. March is when it thawed out and the creek flooded.
Those pictures of all snow bring back a few good memories of hiking through the woods when it was near or above freezing and no wind. But many days of wind and blowing snow is misery.
Even you don’t like it or you won’t post so much about it.
Meanwhile it’s beautiful and 70s here day after day. Our only bad weather this time of year is windy. But it’s seldom cold enough even windy to keep me inside.
Got a start to a summer tan on face and arms (the farmer’s tan)…outdoors in sun doing grafting and other chores. Been like that a number of days…but cooler stuff has moved in.
(I hoped La Nina lasted through April…so my blossoms didn’t get killed that are blooming.)
I feel for you. I’ve been frozen many times and it’s no fun. West Texas does have bad weather. Amarillo was wind, hail, freezes, rinse and repeat. Alpine is 400 miles further south and better on all fronts.
I do enjoy your posts. Keep it up…!! Next one will be 238 in this thread. And you’ve earned the right to post every one…!!
we just got about a foot this week total. all my winter sow containers under it, good, my crocus and hellebore? NO
things are still dormant so, that’s fine. I don’t mind it this time of year at all. what I worry on is late frosts in end of April/May after things are moving.
I’m going to dormant spray as soon as the snow is off the branches. that’s my calendar this year.
Been snowing on and off here since Friday. Maybe 6-8 inches total–the stuff last night was very sloppy. Maybe back into the 50Fs late week, but more cold coming after.
