I’ve had that done. throw some shades on and get out there!
I think that might just be powdery mildew. ![]()
at least you didn’t get the 2ft. we got. still digging things out. poor chics can’t get out in their run.
Not Phoenix, but mid 40Fs or better all next week is going to feel nice. Get rid of this snow, clean up the salt. Wash the cars. Get back outside. There will be 10 trillion guys ice fishing this weekend. If i remember i’ll go snap some pictures.
Is anyone else like me? It was 77F in my house this morning (woodstove was going last night). It is usually 72F to 78F in here all winter. Fast forward to summer and in July i’ll have it 67F or 68F inside. I need it like a meat locker in the warmest months yet i run around in tshirt/shorts in winter. Why!?
22F this afternoon. Feels almost mild out.
This weather app makes you buy a new one every year almost but it’s been fairly accurate. I might cave in this year…
Have to bring my tropicals in tonight again. I’m hoping it stays 40 at night and 50+ during the day from now on until summer. That would be nice
Lows in the high 30s tonight. Probably wont get frost, but I put my tomatoes next to my aquaponics system to give them some shelter and huddled my brocolli around the ones in ground. Tropicals had to go back in the greenhouse though.
We got a couple inches of snow recently and now a cold spell… We had 19F this morning…

They are talking 9 degrees tonight… I doubt that seriously … they usually miss me by 4-5 degrees. In a few days it is warming up again…
I covered my small young Cardinal persimmon… and have the covers and lights on in my hot bed to protect my lettuce.
Hope this is the last cold snap… nothing in heavy bud or bloom yet here.

I’m definitely not like you, but my wife is precisely similar.
I still can’t understand why she needs the house near 80 in the winter and in the 60s in the summer.
Spring may be coming back tomorrow.
I hope this week’s cold keeps the trees dormant for a while.
My wife and my mother are the same way. Personally, I like warm temps all the time, but am also a cheapskate. I’m ok with the house being a bit cool in the winter, but like it in at least the high 70s, preferably lower 80s in summer.
To me nothing makes one sicker than coming in from 95, eating lunch at 60 while shivering, and going back out to work in the heat.
I thought when I moved out of my parents house I’d get some relief…but no, cause I got married lol.
Well… we actually got 15-16F last night…
They were calling for 8-9.
It is already back up to 22F… sunny today… i may cut, split, stack more firewood later today.

In summer it’s sleeping. I can’t sleep in warm/humid temps. Growing up we didn’t have AC and i had an upstairs bedroom and that room was a furnace in summer. Box fans didn’t do much. Maybe the warm winter temps don’t bother me because the air is so dry.
upper 20Fs today. I think we are done with the subzeros.
We’ve had 15 subzero days this winter. I think the avg around here is 20 ish. Last year we had a couple.
67 or 68 in summer would make my knees ache like a SOB. Way too cold for me in summer. I’d keep the house at 74 or 75 if my wife would let me. We compromise at 72.
despite my arthritis, its the opposite at my house. i keep it at around 68 all year long. my wife would be happy if it was 75f. the woman’s hands are like ice all year long. we battle with the thermostat all the time.
I am the complete opposite. 63-65 in the winter and 76-78 in the summer. Would like it a little cooler in the summer, but that temperature range lets us run our AC almost entirely on solar + battery.
SoCal and Arizona just can’t catch a break this winter. Record February warmth for next week with highs in the 80s and 90s for Southern California. Rainfall is still well below seasonal averages. Up here in NorCal the highs will be in the low 70s, which is gonna jumpstart budbreak in the grapes. Time to get the wind machines and diesel pumps checked for the inevitable radiation frosts.
It’s the humidity difference. Try adding humidity to your house in winter and you won’t need it so warm.
An all day’s light rain here. Temp upper 40’s.
Finished installing my wall mounted garage door opener and demo’ed the old motor and track. Recaptured some ceiling space.
Installed new septic aeration pump.
Installed new garbage disposal.
Not a bad weekend list to get done.
May have had our last feeeze here. Climatology-wise that’s about right. Hope so as some blooms popping now. My few Artic Star Nectarine branches have a few blooms open. My few Shiro plum branches are a few days away.
Sweet Treat Pluerry almost there. Cot-n-Candy apium a few weeks away.
