Well, goodbye snow. You had a good run this year. Doesn’t look like any will be back any time soon.
And fittingly enough the snow melted to reveal the first crocus flowers this year. Spring is surely on the way.
finally got a stretch that the day temps. are above freezing with no wind. supposed to hit 40 tom. hitting a big remote lake for lake trout with my brother and son. looking for that 20+ lber.! maybe get a little sunburn. 30in. of ice at the smelt shack right now.
Hit 48 here today. Everything’s soggy, looks like April.
good! send it my way please! lots of cold wind this winter. almost no days it’s not blowing at least 10mph or better.
House thermometer says 45. I can tell from our Blink cams that a lot of snow melted the last 2 days. I won’t be upset if its bare ground in a week.
We hit 84 today. We’ll still have at least two two more debilitating frosts between now safety though
Still raining!
Snow is almost gone here except for piles. Was 55F yesterday and it felt very nice. 40Fs rest of week and back into mid 50Fs Friday. I would imagine river levels will start to creep up and that will open back up here quickly.
55, wow. 45 at home yesterday and thats pretty crazy for February. Still lots of snow on the ground, but a few more days in the 40s and most will be gone. It’ll sure be nice pruning on bare ground next week.
-18F last week (so nearly 75F warmer) and i was outside in a tshirt yesterday. Not bad. 50Fs are great for doing stuff outside. Friday should be another warm one. Should see light rain overnight. Too bad it isn’t a heavy rain to wash away all the road salt.
My neighbor just sent me a pic of my largest orchard. Darn near snow free. Pruning should be easy this year
Neighborhood kids this year built igloos. They’re all collapsed and melted away now.
My apricots are about to pop but its chilly!
50-60F days, 30-45F nights all the coming week. all bets are off this year I think. things are waking up but it’s so early! makes me nervous, a late hard frost can always come here and the warm days aren’t great for that
We have had a chilly series of -30 to -40 weeks through February, but are on our way to some warmer weather!
I’ll be taking some willow cuttings at the end of March for April planting, and the first of my fruiting trees & shrubs will arrive for planting at the end of April.
We should enter the guaranteed frost-free days as June begins.
Unseasonably warm here today, in Eastern VA. 69 or 70 degrees? Sunny.
I sprayed all of my fruit trees. The plums are starting to ‘popcorn’. But, tonight enormous winds blew through. Heralding rain, I expect. (Of course! I just sprayed!#$%&*!!!)
Was 75 yesterday and gorgeous…. Woke up to 33 degrees and a thousand mile an hour wind, haha
Blizzard in Omaha with 60 miles wind right now.
