Smoke here yesterday was the worst I’ve seen. Less than a mile visibility. The stench was over powering. Air quality warnings here until Monday… “very unhealthy” levels

I went outside this morning . . .
Picked a few tomatoes, turned around, and went right back in.
Our weather is disgusting right now. Like a furnace . . . with soup for air. My outdoor thermometer reading 101 in the shade!
I can’t wait for fall.

Another haboob today. No water with it yet. Hopefully it will come. It did, however, drop the temp several degrees.

A lot of sound and fury but very little actual rain here the past couple weeks… hopefully we get some today.

We went close to 48 hours without rain a few days ago, but then back to daily storms. Thunderstorms are common for this area in summer but I just don’t ever remember this much rain.

No rain yesterday. Weather Channel was so sure heavy rain was coming. Then the chances just… evaporated.

That’s nuts! Great photos. With the orange light it looks a bit like forest fire smoke rolling in, but closer to the ground.
This was my brother’s first time seeing one. He kept telling me there was a fire. Also that there was rain. He thought I was crazy when I told him it was dust.
I’ve seen everything from tornadoes water, spouts, hurricanes, and weird cloud formations but never seen anything like that. I would have to rank that is number one “Spooky”
Cold front is getting closer. A lot of rain over N Wisconsin/Minnesota. Cool air to the north. Areas of N MN didn’t get out of the 60Fs yesterday. Very warm and humid here but rain should keep temps in check today. Very fall like storm.

High around 60 here today. Got about .8" over night. Cool through the weekend. Good brassica growing weather, not so much for tomatoes

hazy, hot and humid. cooler weather coming in tom. the cherries are ripening quick in this heat. 92 forcasted for today. watermelons and tomatoes are loving it as well. we’ve had so much rain i havent had to water anything other than potted stuff.
Next week appears to have another pretty strong cold front. Thurs/Fri. I would imagine more heavy rain out in front of the cold air.
Over 2 inches of rain fell here this morning. It was like a carwash at times. Everything has moved off east now.
