How is your weather? (Part 2)

Wow! A colleague of mine in Nashville has said they call that kind of rain a “frog strangler.”

It’s glorious summer weather in central BC, mostly high 80s and low 90s with a rain system cooling things off every week or two. Since I moved here from the coast six years ago, this is the first summer we’ve had with no significant wildfire smoke. There is almost always at least 1 or 2 weeks where you can’t go outside. Just so thankful for this beautiful summer and sorry to hear about all the folks in the east who have had to deal with the smoke this year. Hopefully it will be an exception. I can’t help but think that wildfires will continue to get worse, at least in the short term. Over the last decade we have been losing significant parts of towns or entire small villages most summers.

I feel like we need a volcano or something to cool off the weather-- 1991 Pinatubo repeat.

Still 80s and humid. Not much of a cold front.

It was 58 here this morning. I darn near needed a hoodie sitting on my back patio last night.

Smoke here today is about as thick and stinky as I’ve seen it. “Unhealthy for everybody” level advisory

Ya, it sucks. Large chunks of summer here have sucked thanks to smoke. Last night was comfortable temperature wise, but I couldn’t open the house due to the stench. My wife wouldn’t sit outside yesterday. I don’t blame her. I had a lot of outside work to get done today, but my lungs told me to stay inside.

They said the smoke was horrible up on Lake of the Woods. The smoke came in here last night as that (weak) cold front pushed thru. Temp did drop to 59F this morning so that was nice. I mean at some point you run out of trees to burn.

Down into the 60s last nite, but the good thing is the dew point, down into the low 60s now. We also got decent rain with this front.

Good day for a dip in the Chicago River :diving_mask:

you would think. i guess they arent concerned about the pollution or preserving their timber resources. now the east is starting to burn. there are several remote fires here in Maine and new brunswick and nova scotia have fires going as well. we just got our 1st shower in a month. been very hot with dry air as well.

72 degrees, dewpoint of 70. I was soaked after my morning walk.

74 and 34% humidity. nice breeze.

I found some cooler air and a nice breeze. Just hike up to 10,000ft near Mt Rainier in Washington state. Seems like a pretty strong storm for summer. The summit is another 4000ft higher so the winds would be even strong and temps colder.

93° high humidity and not one puff of air. The only thing this weather is good for is fly fishing for bluegills other than that, I just stay inside soak up some BTUs
