How is your weather? (Part 2)

January and February would be great. The other 10 months no thanks. I was looking at Miami for last year and the overnite lows didn’t dip into the upper 50Fs until LATE November. S Florida is basically the tropics outside of a few cold fronts and rarely some frost.

I hear ya about the interior deep south, but it’s another world along the coast. I was in Naples for 7 months and the humidity is a lot more tolerable with the constant coastal breeze. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still hot. But air movement versus dead air makes a huge difference in those airmasses.

If you are right on the coast, like a couple hundred yards or less to the water, summers in SW FL wouldnt be terrible.

If only more people wouldn’t move to Florida. They all seem to be coming here.

I’d prefer coastal California if it wasn’t for the earthquakes, wildfires, house pricing, etc. It does have gorgeous weather. Can grow almost anything in S California outside of true tropicals. The ocean isn’t much for swimming.

There is a youtuber from Miami that spends summers in California.

I have a love/hate relationship with this heat I’m getting right now. Was 95+ for the last few days and finally cooling down to 90 today with 80 in the forecast for the next week at least. Night time temperatures still 55-60 though.

Beautiful sunrise today from the remnant monsoon moisture making its way up here.

Florida’s going under. Enjoy it while there’s land.

Better start playing lotto. SW FL is pricey, but we could make it happen. Southern CA is so far out of my price range I don’t even consider it

True. I love those early warm days in spring after a cold winter. But the humidity just eats me up. I think dry heat is probably easier to deal with than tropical heat.

Another potent cold shot next week the models are hinting at… 30Fs for lows? By next Thurs the 540 line (freezing line) is over Madison, WI. Not unheard of, but pretty early for this stuff.

Oh man, I’m sorry for you. I was born in the tropics and my family has always gardened somewhere.

How many growing days do you guys usually have over there?

I usually figure May-Oct. You can extend that some years. Days start getting awfully short by late Oct.

Low temps late next week. Should have several cool nights like this.

Nothing even approaching freezing in our 10 day. A few nights in the 40s next week. Average first frost here is around 9/15 I think

There was patchy frost up in northern NH this morning. Made it to 42° here.

I’m guessing the typical cold spots will see frost/freeze. Sparta/Black River. I wouldn’t be surprised to see upper 20Fs. Around here probably 40F ish. Stays warmer near the river–fog was thick this morning–that usually stops temps from going too low this time of year.

Not sure if this is a trend–i’d imagine summer will visit again.

Cold air still on tap for Thurs.

GFS actually has accumulating snow in Ontario —snow flakes in MN?

Maybe we’ll have the coldest winter on record.

I was just reading some meteorologist’s post on FB. Snow at elevation in NE MN (Lutsen) is possible

One more warm day and we won’t see 70F again until next week.

Meanwhile it’s 95 degrees in BC, and I’m significantly north of you. I know, continental weather and all. Still feels wacky.
