Yup. Already well over 1” today with a lot more to come. Then 70s and 80s for days. The plants will go wild.

Stretch of summer starts tomorrow. Heat doesn’t last. Big cold front again next week. GFS shows snow in N Minnesota.

the cold wont just quit this year. i love cool summers but the plants dont produce as well.

Under half inch of rain. Lots of lightning last night. 80Fs the next few days. Very summer like. Cold front next week. Back to to the 60Fs which is great. Really don’t need summer starting this soon. I had AC on yesterday. We needed that rain but should get plenty more next few days before cold blast.
Dry, dry, dry. Grass under trees is drought stressed. You can tell the trees are winning the war for any available moisture. We were supposed to get 2”+ Sunday/Monday but now it looks like the forecasted amount has been cut in half or more.

we got to 74 but going back to lows 60’s for next week. heard the spring peepers for the 1st time yesterday. saw my 1st black fly today also.

Stuck in the 50Fs here today under clouds and gloom with on and off rain. I had a jacket on. It was freezing vs the 80Fs yesterday. Forecast fail (they were calling for 80Fs) big time. More storms and rain tomorrow.

Getting hotter by the day 80’s this week.
Could be some record heat in the northeast tomorrow with many highs of 90-95. Maybe even upper 90s in the warmest spots. We’ll probably flirt with 90° here…not sure if I should move the new grafts into the shade yet.
Our “100% chance of heavy rain” turned into a whopping .2”. Not even enough to erase the granddaughter’s sidewalk chalk.
Frost tomorrow night. I hope that’s the last of the spring.

I saw something about wildfires up around Brainerd and north of Duluth. We have had about an inch here total. Maybe another half inch tonite.
Warm and humid today. Looking forward to the cooler 60Fs behind the front.
Yep, pretty nasty fire north of Brainerd not far. Haven’t seen that much about the one further north. Not much rain in the 10 day forecast. With more and more city people heading to “cabin country” I worry about more fires in the near future.
My brother/nephew head to Rainy Lake this week so i’ll get the scoop on what is happening up there.
There were a lot of people swimming in the Mississippi River on Sat. Water temp was 68F. Beach was packed.
Nobody in the water/at the beach around here. Lol
Last week another old codger who fishes 5 days a week told me water temps were in the mid to upper 40s

How is my weather? Well…
On Friday the 15th of May we set a new record low of 32F.
Then 3 days later on the 18th, we set a new record high of 93F (!)
They’ve not updated the below yet but have acknowledged the new record high at National Weather Service
