Quite a bit.

Another dry July despite much of the northeast being inundated with rain. Finished with 1.38ā€.

I think we got close to 5ā€ in July. Also had a day top out at 104. Hotest day I have seen here. Glad to put that month behind.

Wow. We ended up with .8 inches. It rained all day. Sunny now. Still raining over Madison/Milwaukee. This storm is almost a cut off low so very slow moving.

In towns and villages surrounding me, but not where I live. Flew into Marseille yesterday and you could see smoke-haze from the air. Italy is bad as well.

I hope you stay unsinged!

Up to 5ā€ now, which is about what we got with Monday’s storm. They didn’t predict anything like this.

That is a lot of rain. NWS mentioned this was an odd storm for this time of year. Very slow moving==i noticed Madison it didn’t stop raining until about 3pm.

We had sun all day and this evening we had about a 10 minute downpour and after the sun came back out.

Thanks. We had a storm , however, while I was in Italy. It took down many old, very large Plane trees.

still the drought, highest level fire warnings given yesterday and they started to prep for today which was hell.

the city itself caught fire. photos are of two separate fires, one to the north at 1000 acres and one to the west at 3600 acres. at last count.

it has been so, SO dry and hot. this is in the city too not just a ā€œwildfireā€ or the woods. jumping the river and across major wide streets etc. we just didn’t get enough snow pack. it’s only July too. we still have to get through August.

we personally are on the edge of the evacuation areas and I’m waiting up until dawn checking watch duty. we’re packed to go if we gotta. it’s worse to either side of us.

that pink circle is the city, half a million people live inside that circle. a third had no power most the day. another third evacuated. it’s a lot of people.

I’d have all my vital documents and other important stuff ready to go. Make sure the car has a full tank of gas too.

7-12 inches of rain fell between Pilot Mt. NC and Meadows of Dan VA last night rather quickly. Completely unexpected.

Finally got some rain here. And it’s the right type: slow and gentle but going on a long time. The ground had gotten really dry and I was scared if we got a big soaking rain it’d just run off and/or there’d be flooding.

This is really bad. I’m sorry. I was caught next to two evacuations in CA wildfires and stayed up all night both times with my car packed and waiting…

Almost 3ā€ of much needed, and appreciated, rain overnight. I more than doubled my July total in just a few hours.

Another one of those freak 80F+ days with 60 degree dew point has me running around watering everything.
