Looks like downy mildew. Copper is somewhat effective but usually as a protectant not a rescue/eridicant. Most of the more effective products like Phosphorous acid and specialized single site fungicides like Ranman or Ridomil are hard for home owners to get their hands on.
I assume your response was to my browning cherry leaves?
I know nothing turns back time for sure. I ended up cutting off the affected branches back to healthier leaves. Need to do better next year, assuming these little trees survive, of doing a spray schedule.
Guess what, it rings a bell . I vaguely remember seeing phosphorus acid and went to my fungicides/pesticides collection. Here it is. But it is old, 4~5 years, not sure if it still is effective. It is not getting better, I spray it anyway, just to give it a try.
The butterfly is flying away happily
No sorry, it was to the yellow spots on the melon leaves.
This is on a youngish Airlie red flesh bench whip. Top leaves are healthy unblemished happy etc. lower leaves look like this, have seen it as well before in other apple trees. Can someone identify this please? I think it might be rust but not sure. Just please confirm that this is not fire blight! Thanks
Lower leaves-
Mine started to do the same thing. New growth is fine, some of the old is struggling. My thoughts is magnesium deficiency.

Two weeks later:
I thought you photoshopped the pic!!! The “eyes” looked so real.
Nature doing it’s thing. There are so many caterpillars that have adapted to look like snake heads too.
This one looks more like a frog.
This one looks way real, more facial expression than the one in The Very Hungry Caterpillar(by Eric Carle). BTW are the eyes real?
Pretty sure those “eyes” are on its rear end.
So these eyes just for looking cute or looked something else. The real functional eyes are somewhere else?
Yeah, they make it look bigger and scarier to predators, and maybe trick them into biting the wrong end first?
Smart!
I like its double eyelids, I want apply some mascaras to make it look like having a eyelash.![]()
Looks like some sort of swallowtail…from what I see in a search for snake mimicking caterpillars
The caterpillar above looks like a sad fish to me. It has don’t bother me, leave me alone, spelled all over its “face”
I’m not sure which end was which, but I don’t think they were eyes, just markings to look like eyes. @swincher I’ll ad a second photo I took from the side.
Whatever it is, it is cute (to me). Will you be able to monitor its development?
I plucked the leaf to take the photo, and then threw it on the ground near the tree. Not sure if it will move to another spot or not.
