Insect with Proboscis?

Any idea what this is? I’m saving it in a jar until I know for sure.

Looks like a weevil. Maybe someone will chime in. I’ve never seen a pecan weevil or acorn weevil…but pics look kinda sorta similar.

Weevil, yes. The longish, narrow, and flattened body of your weevil is unlike the chubbier bodies of nut weevils.

Weevils have a snout (or rostrum), rather than a proboscis.

I think it is a rhubarb weevil. I’ve seen them before too.

It is in the Lixus genus, like the Rhubarb Weevil, but is lacking much of that weevil’s orange or russet coloring.
