We planted three at work today.
put in 5 blackberries. does that count?
No, but I have three apple bench grafts in pots (Goldrush, Suncrisp, Snapp Stayman) that I need to get in the ground soon.
What did you plant, @Lodidian?
Good reminder. Cutting down a wild mulberry tree that is right next to my fence and shade my garden, maybe paint my trees tomorrow
Planted 30 evergreens today, got 100 to do tomorrow, and am waiting for delivery of another 150. Pretty light year for me. The last 6-7 years I’ve planted 1200+ annually
Planting 10 juliet cherries very soon and already planted a bunch of persimmons and a couple of pears recently
I planted some I planted two wickson crab apples, winesap apple, pink pearl apple, redfield apple, two sugar maples , and have tons of apple bench grafts
I’m running out of space, but I managed to plant a third Pakistan mulberry. Can’t get enough of them!!!
First, an American Summer Pearmain from CenturyFarms. It replaces a tree that after seven years turned out to be some kind of crab instead of an ASP. Also planted today were Early Joe and Holstein recently grafted onto G11, and some extra G11 rootstock for future use.
you planting for timber?
Nope, mainly for wildlife habitat. This part of central MN is sorely lacking in evergreens. Great winter cover for many critters
I’m good on fruit trees but have a live oak I need to find a spot for
Nope, planted marigolds, snap dragons and geraniums.
you ever need any we have too many evergreens here. my norway spruces are always reseeding in my raspberry patch. they are one tough evergreen! the birds love to nest in them and they are one of the fastest growing of the evergreens.
I like Norway spruce. I’ve planted a few thousand of them here. So far I’ve planted at least a few hundred each of: eastern white pines, southwest white pines, red pines, austrian pines, ponderosa pines, limber pines, scotch pines, norway spruce, white spruce, black spruce, and balsam firs.
After this year I’ll be done planting anything except for various spruces. Just too much deer damage to the others.
I planted a Charles Harris pear tree today. Thanks Dax.

When it comes to planting trees, I think this cowd is doing it’s part to raise the national average for tree planting!
