Mislabeled plants are a real bummer. I’ve been carefully tending, pruning, and training my three hardy kiwi (arguta type) since 2019. This year all three vines finally flowered and were absolutely loaded with blooms. Initially I was very excited, as I was really looking forward to some fruit. Then I noticed all the blooms looked the same. On further inspection, my Meader male also appears to be female. So it looks like I won’t be tasting any kiwi for a while. At least it wasn’t a pear tree!
Anyone have any favorite males? Should I plant a new male or attempt to graft a male onto one of the current females?
