Thanks Lucas, I appreciate it!
If 2 of these bad boys have roots then I’m good with that! Excited for Jan’s best

The first year I grafted my gerardi… it produced and ripened some fruit but they were smallish and quite bland.
In year 2… improved much… larger berries, sweet and fruity… nothing complex about it no tartness…
Last year… year 3… improved much again… larger berries, complex fruity flavor both tart and sweet. As good as any blackberry I have ever had.
Year 4 coming up…

Do you sell or trade Jumbo Siam to Canada?
I’m in so cal mountains. I have had success rooting a couple pakistani. But far more success grafting to local volunteers. The own root grew to about 3 feet this summer. Healthy and I’d be happy except the grafted ones on rooted twigs hit close to six feet. And i went 3 for 4 on grafted and 1 for 4 rooting. Just my experience.
None of my rooted Pakistani attempts failed and the one I planted grew 6ft but the two in pots barely grew at all. I guess it’s random like that. I have 3? Rooting in the greenhouse now (barely trying) because the last rooted so easily so we will see.
Time of year maybe? Greenhouse temps? Curious. Because i have one rootstock i collect that literally I’ve dropped pieces in the greenhouse and they rooted sideways on the ground. It depends it seems on time of year or type of mulberry.
Yeah I think that is likely the case
Dwarf everbearing started flowering yesterday. Second plant to flower after my sharpblue blueberries, but will probably be the first I get fruit off of. They ripen so much faster.
Mine too, and I’m about to get a 28F degree freeze. I hope it doesn’t just kill the production!
@murky … looked like you got some smallish red mulberry rootstock from BRN a while back.
I placed my order today for 4… and again the price had been dropped to 5.00 each.
The guy I talked to on the phone was very helpful… i told him I really needed at least 1/4 inch diameter on the rootstock. He went and checked them and found several that size.
He assured me I would get 4 nice ones.
I will post a pic when they arrive.

Thanks for the note. Now I should remember to ask for what I want. I’m glad they are willing to accommodate.
This little dwarf everbearing type mulberry got toasted with a couple of hard freezes, one first that seemed to kill every bud, and then after it was recovering and growing some leaves, it got hit at 31F and that was enough to make it look like this:
It wakes too early for 8b, I’m just hoping that it can recover and produce, and that it will do that every year, even if not producing at peak capacity.
What do you guys think? What’s your experiences? Do these plants come back with vigor?
It was grown from a cutting so it’s not grafted, btw
Comes back strong. Mine doesn’t wake up too early, but we don’t get too many late freezes. Our last frost was light on March 3rd. Mine isn’t even fully leafed out yet tho, it’s not the first to wake here. Maui however is full leaf and fruit
my northrop was killed to the ground 4 yrs. ago by -40. came back from the roots in July and put on 7ft. of growth before 1st. frosts.
Wow! Did it produce that first year?
no it didn’t surprisingly. i have Riverview and Northrop that are 5 and 6 yrs. old that haven’t fruited yet. i also put a i.e in a few years ago but it hasn’t grown much. i pruned Riverview back to the trunk 3 days ago. hopefully ill have a ton of shoots and berries this time. i did a small pruning last year but it still didn’t fruit. i put in 3 trader mulberries last spring but they were tiny starts i got from Hartmanns. it will be a while for them.
This is one of my dwarf everbearing types. I’m in East Texas 8b and it got toasted by two late freezes.
Hopefully it bounces back and produces, it’s been in ground for only one season (it grows fast).

Perfect Circle posted they have mulberry scions now. But I don’t recognize some of the varieties. Anyone have any of the unique varieties from there?
wow they don’t have any descriptions of the varieties!
Yes he has descriptions
