My Kiwi Berry is dying

Hi i got a kiwi berry plant and was growing well on the ground… but yesterday it looked sick . I thought it might be waterlocked so i dig it up and put it in a pot… any advice?

Cut it down severely to like 2 buds or so. Remove foliage (if there is still any left after the cut) and hope for the best.

Did you cover the crown with soil or mulch?
If so, it’s a goner. It takes very little time between covering the crown and the vine dying. Nothing can be done.
You will likely see new shoots coming up from below the soil level.

Nope i did not cover the crown. It put it on the ground 3 months ago and it was all good and grown very quickly. Just 2 days ago it became sick…

I had a male Actinidia arguta at least 10 years old that just died suddenly, and I never figured out why. The nearby Anna female kept going just fine, and the Issai kiwiberry that I planted in the male’s spot is also growing well. So, something that isn’t contagious must be occasionally killing kiwi berry vines.

Is there a Kiwi borer?

Couldnt see any.

I cut it back and see how it goes…

In that photo, I am unable to see the crown. Is it buried?

This one?

Yes, the crown is clearly under soil. It is the enlarged portion which if you dig about 2-3” will be visible.
