Any luck with DMOR9 grafts? My grafts fruit very early this year. DMOR9 is the longest in the middle. Maple leaf id on the left from it.

Hello @Marta

Maple leaf I think all were sucessful
World’s best 2 of them were successful, the other I am still dubious
Four seasons, one was successful, the other ones don’t seem like it
And…

Himalayan I think they all will fail :((((
They all were slack on the grafts and started to wilt down and once I removed them the bottom was rotted… :frowning:
2 were still showing a bit of green wood and maybe 1 viable bud so, I am trying to root them now instead.
I read one comment on your blog of someone saying they were successful in rooting them, so I placed those in a small greenhouse with bottom heat and dipped in some clonex gel and trying to see if any roots :(((

I am sad because himalayan was really the one I wanted to be successful.
If you don’t mind when you have available wood I would like to get more himalayan from you and black Prince also.

Lovely Pic of your fruits Marta

Bummer. Grafting individual buds is also an option. Yes, check with me in winter about DMOR9 and Black Prince.

Next step. Tree guards

Done… 100 tree guards put…

Because I think besides voles under the soil I must have rabbits or rats above eating the trunk of some trees above the soil line…

Here’s a coroa de rei persimmon partially girdled or eaten…

The other half still OK… Hope it recovers…

Here’s some photos of the tree guards

Also bought
. +6 y old hibrid jabuticaba
. Guabiju
. Cherry of Rio Grande
. Lucuma / canistel

Planing to keep them all in pots… My orchard is not protected enough weather wise for these.
I had in the past a cherry of Rio Grande there, lasted 2 years with no real growth and died on the 3rd year. Also had there a grumichama planted and died on the first year.

So, all will be kept on pots at home in my balcony so I can bring them inside once weather gets bad.
Any advice on fellow members on the type of soil for each one of these??

Thank you
