That’s great! Congratulations! I pick them when they fall… but i think so. They are perfumed?

See if they fall…

They should come free in your hand easily when ripe, and be slightly soft to the touch and fragrant.

Thanks @swincher they are not ready so. They still feel firm to the touch and no smell at all

My first pawpaw. Sunflower, my only tree planted around 4 y ago.
Hope the fruits get bigger in the next years.

Very nice taste, i would describe as a ripe cherymoia with banana.
I’ve kept the seeds to plant.
No other pawpaws in the area for sure, the new plants should be similar to sunflower no?

Resuming my experience with mulberries that root easily by cuttings with high sucess from all my over 30 cultivars
. Oscar - easy… almost everything roots
. Shangri la - easy, roots almost 100 %
. Shandong- roots easily
. Mapple leaf - roots easily, almost 100%
. Charlotte Russe - roots easily, almost 100%
. Madeira - roots easily
. King white/sharanpur/white pakistan- nothing roots, tried like more than 300 cuttings
. Pakistan - in 300 tries, only got 1 take… but that one if it takes it grows like crazy
. All the others i have, nothing roots… graft or airlayer is the solution
Lol.

@chriso i believe there are several “types” of pakistan.
I have 2 pakistans from different sources. Berries are similar. One grows fast with huge leaves and doesnt root usually, its the one that in hundreds of tries i got one take.
I have another from another source that grows more slowly, smaller leaves, same type of berries and i am trying to root that one… no reports on this yet

Still regarding macrouras or macrouras hibrids or similar long berries:
. I have himalayan mulberry (turkish variety, cyprus variety and DMOR 09) that i cant root also
. Also have taiwan long mulberry that i cant root
. White pakistan/saharanpur I have an italian one and another one from belgium, they look the same and i cant root either

sorry took me awhile. Have to say that is a great catch you ahve there!
it sure seems similar to-- but also different-- from pak mulberries.

All my seeds from my single pawpaw tree (sunflower), self fertile are now in the fridge for 90 days for stratification . I got 12 seeds to plant in 90 days now.
The upcoming should be similar to the mother plant no? As it was self fertile and i am sure there are no other paw paws for 100 miles at least!
