Vaccinium Padifolium, the endemic blueberry from Madeira island. It’s the first time this plant is flowering and was planted many years ago…

Monty’s Surprise apple from NZ is sold in Washington State by Burnt Ridge Nursery with the M.222 bare root stock, Do you think it is worth getting? i see you have one in your impressive orchard and it’s one big apple you could make apple pie with two apples.

I bought more Loquats today to try again, they are much better than before, but the problem is the variety is in Greek.

SoCal,
That Greek translates to something like Mousmoula acacias, with the first word meaning Loquat.

Is that a good variety? Decent taste, not too acidic for me.

I haven’t tried a lot of varieties and most likely, not that one.

Luis,

I just went through your whole thread. Incredible. Your climate is light years different than mine. I found it interesting that you got so many ‘mislabled trees’ I’d probably skip that nursery in the future.

The other part I am curious about is, apples, you let them fruit very early, is this out exuberant enthusiasm and less patience or do trees just grow so crazy fast it doesn’t slow down the growth of the tree like it would here in Michigan?

Awesome thread. I would like to know how big your place is, some photos of the whole scope of how it looks would be cool.

Hi! Thank you very much for your kind words.
My climate is great, i just can’t grow real tropical vrieties and some sub-tropical less cold hardy. That’s why apples and other temperate fruits don’t wait much to wake up from winter.

I just went outside to look and it’s not on there any more. I only have 4 flowers on one tree and 1 on another tree. No pollen yet.
