When I saw the picture of the fruit,my first thought was Arbutus unedo, the Strawberry tree.Even though, the mistranslation from Chinese,is Arbutus, they aren’t related.
The leaves of @Luisport’s seedlings look more like A. unedo (toothed) than any M. rubra I’ve seen online (usually smooth leaf margins). I wonder if the seller got them mixed up too? Or if young ones have different leaves.
Hi! This 4 plants came from a friend that eat the fresh fruits from other friends tree. Yangmei plants have serrated leaves when still young and they turn smooth with age.
By the way i have a big Arbutus Unedo tree too.

Much smaller… but it’s beautifull!
Hello my friend! It’s a garden plum… but it’s an hybrid… a cherryplum or so because the cherry flavor is very strong in this fruit. It’s a very beautifull tree!
Is it a pluerry? I have a few pluerry trees in my garden
No, it’s a cherryplum not a pluerry.
