Stan,
I did see Emerald Gem listed in the patents. Thanks for the information. Brady
Did you get your Nadia? Even with the delivery fiasco, my Nadia seems to have made it fine. Here’s a pic of the stick!
Bleedingdirt, did you prune yours, or that’s how Raintree shipped it to you?
Since Emerald Drop pluot is a plumcot x pluot cross, its parentage is: 37.50% apricot, 67.50% plum.
Raintree shipped the tree well branched but a bit too tall. The branches had some narrow crotch angles too. I wanted to do a knee high cut but have had bad experience with large trees. So I pruned it right above the lowest branch just above knee high.
think like you, hopefully it look zaigers pressed and release more hybrids
I did not get my Nadia yet. My father ordered it for my birthday, an apparently made the order just two days ago (later than expected) I called Raintree and they said that delivery was 2 weeks out. Ironically, the nursery is only two hours south of my home.
Another Washingtonian? Alright. Brady
Is Raintree going to be delivering really late in the east again? Its not that big of a deal, but I’d love to get my trees by early April…
Well, I would say late everywhere, Rob. I am expecting my Raintree shipment today or tomorrow. I ordered it back in August. Our bareroot season to put in the ground here in S. California is January! My trees are all either fulling in bloom or moving to leaf. Not sure why so late this year, but they are always on the late side, which I find strange, since they’re a west coast company.

Your trees will do fine. Last year, I asked them to ship my trees late-March, and they did. All my trees survived.
I do know that, Ulises Been doing this a while, now (about 30 or 40 years, lol!) But I thank you for your thoughfulness on this topic. But, as we all know, bare root trees will have a better start if planted at their appropriate time for the climate. And, that was two months ago for me. What I am puzzled about, is why Raintree is consistently late with their trees, especially in warmer, earlier climates. I find this odd.

For how much money i pay in shipping…they should be able to send these things out at the time requested. I don’t know…after this year, i’m probably done ordering trees for a few years while i weed out what i have.
The issue could be when they receive the trees from their wholesaler. Might not be much they can do about that. They do seem later than most and others should face the same issues.
Scott, how is the counting done? 9.2k…are those unique visits from different IPs or just number of clicks on this thread?
Looking into it, a user can visit more than once but they only get counted once per day. Also for anonymous users view the IP as the user name/ Or something like that.
the nursery is located in the north of the country in January and February is too cold in that area to uproot trees, it’s cold and snow, so I guess it sent in March
Last year I think my Nadia died from cold damage en route - it looked really healthy but never got going. It was shipped in early March.
Raintree shipped that early or someone else?
