can you add Off The Beaten Path Nursery? Mostly figs but they do sell other things. Iāve had nothing but good experiences with them. https://offthebeatenpathnursery.com/
I received some sad news in an email from one of the major Canadian nurseries today. Whiffletree nursery in Ontario will no longer be shipping fruit trees to British Columbia. I was looking forward to placing another order with Whiffletree when their online ordering system resumed in a few days. Whiffletree was/is basically the only Canadian nursery with a selection of Pluot trees in Canada.
The number of nurseries within Canada (in other provinces) still shipping fruit trees to British Columbia has now dwindled to near none.
BC fruit growers must basically source all their fruit trees from within BC (with a few minor exceptions) now.
Iām sure glad I purchased most of the tree varieties I wanted from Whiffletree nursery over the last three years, as we apparently have little or no options left to import trees from outside our province.
News blurb I received from Whiffletree Nursery today via email:
Notice to Our Customers from British Columbia
Deer B.C. Customers,
Unfortunately, due to government regulations we have made the decision that we will no longer be shipping fruit trees and grape vines to British Columbia.
If you have a store credit with Whiffletree Farm and Nursery you will still be able to use it on any products that are eligible to be shipped to B.C. (shrubs and plants excluding grapes, orchard supplies, and reference books). If there is nothing within these categories that you want to buy, let us know and we will refund your credit.
thatās sad. its the same for many western states in the U.S. too many mini tyrants in govt nowadays in both countries. does nothing to protect agriculture like it claims. about control.
Just wanted to shout out again how much I love restoring Eden. They have great products, but the vibe there is unreal. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. The chickens clucking around always make me smile. I drive almost an hour to get there from the north Seattle suburb I live in. It has never felt like a wasted trip.
Yesterday I picked up a replacement mountain rose apple tree for one that died on me. Wish I could have stayed longer and window shopped but I was between jobs for work. Just wanted to shout you guys out @Restoringeden and say what a class act you are there. You have something very special at your shop that I appreciate. And a loyal customer for life.
Happy growing.
Any fruithead that flys into sea/tac airport should check out restoring Eden. Itās only 2 exits down the freeway and 15 min away. Must stop fruit spot.
Scott, although Dave Wilson Nursery is strictly for commercial growers they have done considerable work on their website to make it user friendly for all users no matter what your needs. For instance here is the link to their page for retailers of their products: https://www.wheretobuy.davewilson.com/home-gardens/where-to-buy/retail-nurseries-outside-california
With this page one can click on a nursery (re seller) and see exactly which product from DWN they are selling for 2025.
Thanks for the shoutout! We really really appreciate those who continue to support us. With the addition of 6 acres out in Enumclaw we are excited to be growing a whole lot more and adding to the product offering in the coming years! Hope you have a great harvest this year. Cant wait!
Take 188th street east/ towards the double tree hotel to city hall then make a right at the light/ right after the motel but before you hit the freeway. Thereās going to be a lane with 2 turning arrows, you wanna take the first arrow because the second will send you on i-5. Itāll be on your left in about 8 minutes
Any of you folks in the PNW ever heard of or did business with
Santiam Nursery

I saw them on Ebay this am and they have several thing Iām interested in. Seems to have good prices and reasonable shipping rates.
im not in the PNW⦠actually the opposite and ive done business with them.
I did my homework and got no where⦠they sell lots of things with no proof of any kind of fruit that i can see.
Google Earth images of their location shows a smallish greenhouse next to a kind of crappy house.
So they shipped things that i ordered and i have no way of knowing if they are true to name or not⦠wont for a couple or few years i dont think.
There is one review of them online from someone who visited them⦠and said that they have a nice selection of things and the owner was friendly.
Their Facebook page has zero activity⦠and they dont seem to do any kind of promotion whatsoever.
Their Ebay and Etsy reviews are nearly 100 percent⦠but i do believe that they sell cuttings and trees and things that nobody has seen fruit from either⦠so of course everyone is happy that they got something that was alive.
Could be a great nursery with true to name things⦠or not.
They have a website and most things are sold out.
I believe that they are just very small and somehow legit⦠and likely unable to do much more than they already are out of that small greenhouse if Google maps is correct.
Shout out to @JohannsGarden where I just purchased and received two beautiful aronia! Fair prices, fair shipping, and healthy plants with great roots. I couldnāt be happier.
