Older Peach Tree

Question for peach gurus: my June gold has stopped producing and I found out that the average age of a peach tree is about 12 years. Mine is 13. Looks like it’s time to replace, however we are looking to move in the next year or so. If I air root a younger branch would it be like a new tree or would it still not produce?

Peach trees go into decline due to disease, not age. If your tree is suffering from root rot then splicing a cutting on to new rootstock should work well.

One of the things about age of fruit trees and life expectancy is they are for commercial growers for one and two they change massively. I can find sources stating 100 years, 50 years and even less than 25 years for a apple or pear, No one can determine a trees lifespan.
