Ordering from Arboreum

Haven’t got mine yet, but maybe they’ll still show up.

I’m on west coast got my order some time ago nice trees only thing was of five plums three labels fell off so now I don’t have any clue which is which until they fruit. If one dies no clue what it would be. Bummer on that.

Not to be too nosy, but what did you get? Do they usually send good trees?

Yes, in my experience over a few years–good to very good.

The trees had excellent roots but were already leafing out quite a bit. I’m not sure why they waited so long to send them. Since they were so healthy I think they will be fine in the end. I ordered Teton de Venus and Peche de Vigne. I wished I could have gotten them from ARS, I would have saved a lot of $$!

I haven’t heard from them here and they usually have already sent them by this time in the past couple of years. Like Scott, I ordered a Teton de Venus and a Peche de Vigne but also another a Hakuto because of vole damage that killed the one I planted a year earlier.

Sorry to everyone that I have not been around much since beginning last summer but the amount of deer damage within a 2 month period to my trees that was done was more then the previous 6 or 7 years all put together combined blew me away! Then this fall wasn’t too good either with rabbit and vole damage that I never had before that did some damage. I kind of lost a lot of this passion that I once had over the past years because of the amt. of damage that was done here the past year.

So far from the above I only ordered from this past year to this year was a Vampire plum tree from Cummins and a Mikkusu hybrid jt-02 from England’s(my first persimmon tree here).

I just checked their site, and both of those peach varieties were $75?? :fearful: Is that because now those are low in stock? Were they $25 like the others when you ordered them? If not, then those must be some awesome peaches!

Sorry to hear about your varmit woes, especially the deer issues. I can understand how it can be demoralizing.

It’s been a constant struggle to keep deer off my fruit trees, plants and veggies. I have 29 trees, and all but 3 of them are enclosed in circular fencing. All of our veggie plots will be enclosed in some type of fencing when we plant out later this spring.
